As a medical assistant Jessica prepares the patient to see the physician by obtaining their vitals, medical history and reconciling medication lists. She receives telephone encounters submitted by patients requesting medication refills or issues that may arise between their appointments with our physicians. She communicates with physicians daily regarding these requests to ensure the patients’ needs are being met. Jessica is responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for medications prescribed by our physicians. Maintaining prior authorizations ensures insurance coverage for medications that are needed for optimal patient care.
